Winter Session-II: February 11, 2014
The fifth day of the extended Winter Session saw the introduction of three
Bills in Parliament.
Both Houses continued to be disrupted. Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha both worked
for under 15 minutes each today. In the five sittings since the beginning of
this Session, Lok Sabha has lost 95% of time to disruptions, while the Rajya
Sabha has lost 91% time to disruptions.
In Rajya Sabha, The Human Immunodeficiency Virus And Acquired Immune Deficiency
Syndrome (Prevention And Control) Bill, 2014 and The Constitution (Scheduled
Castes) Orders (Amendment) Bill, 2014 were introduced.
In Lok Sabha, The Acquisition of Certain Area in Mumbai for Dr. Bhimrao
Ambedkar Memorial Bill, 2014 was introduced. The Bill provides for the
acquisition of certain area in Mumbai belonging to the National Textile
Corporation Limited for facilitation of the construction of a memorial for Dr.
Bhimrao Ambedkar.
As of today, 129 Bills are pending in the 15th Lok Sabha.
